RHODESKINS
Brand & Product Philosophy Whitepaper
01
Introduction
This document sets out the beliefs, principles and standards that guide Rhodeskins. It is written for customers, collaborators and future partners who want to understand how and why we make what we make. It is a living document and will be revised as the company grows.
02
The RHODESKINS Philosophy
Our philosophy can be expressed in three words: less, but better. We believe a small number of well-made products, used with intention, can do more for a daily routine than a crowded shelf. Every decision — what to make, how it feels, how it is packaged — is measured against that idea.
03
Modern Beauty & Consumer Needs
Many people want routines that are effective but also easy to maintain. Time is limited, information is abundant, and choice can feel overwhelming. We see an opportunity to offer clarity: fewer products, clearer purposes, and honest communication about what each one is designed to do.
04
Product Development Principles
A product is developed only when it has a clear role in a routine. It should be pleasurable to use, work alongside the rest of the collection, and justify its place over time. We would rather delay a launch than release something that does not meet this standard.
05
Formulation Philosophy
We favour formulas that are thoughtfully composed rather than maximal. Texture, wear and compatibility with other products are treated as seriously as the headline benefit. Claims will only be made where they can be supported by appropriate testing.
06
Ingredient Transparency
Full ingredient lists will be published for every product. Where we highlight an ingredient, we will explain in plain language why it is included. We will not use vague language to suggest benefits that have not been substantiated.
07
Packaging Philosophy
Packaging should protect the formula, be easy to use and feel good in the hand. We aim to avoid unnecessary layers and inserts, and to choose materials with their end of life in mind. Specific material details will be shared as they are confirmed.
08
Sustainability Approach
We see sustainability as a practice of continuous improvement rather than a finished claim. Our current focus is on reducing unnecessary materials, producing in considered quantities and choosing partners carefully. We will only make specific environmental claims once they can be verified.
09
Quality Standards
Every product is expected to meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements in the markets where it is sold. Consistency from batch to batch, clear labelling and responsive customer care are part of what we consider quality.
10
Customer Experience
From browsing to unboxing, the experience should feel calm and considered. That means clear information, simple navigation, honest pricing and support that is genuinely helpful when something goes wrong.
11
Community
We hope RHODESKINS becomes a brand people feel part of. We will listen to feedback, share our thinking openly through the Journal, and invite the people who use our products to help shape what comes next.
12
Brand Growth Strategy
Growth will be deliberate. We intend to expand the collection slowly, prioritise depth over breadth, and build trust through consistency. New categories will be considered only when they align with our philosophy.
13
Future Product Development
Future products will follow the same principles: clear purpose, thoughtful formulation and design that lasts. Our roadmap will be shaped by genuine customer needs rather than trends.
14
Founder
Hannah Ayansh is the founder and the brain behind Rhodeskins. The idea began in 2019, from a simple observation: the routines people loved most were rarely the biggest ones — just a few trusted essentials used every day. She began imagining a brand built around that idea: fewer products, made with care, designed to fit naturally into real life. Rhodeskins is the result. The brand's philosophy, product direction and creative vision are hers: a belief that everyday beauty should feel considered, uncomplicated and personal. Every principle in this document reflects her founding vision — to create beautiful essentials that people genuinely want to use every day.
15
Conclusion
RHODESKINS is a commitment to doing fewer things, well. This whitepaper describes where we begin. We look forward to updating it as the collection, the company and our community grow.
